Recently, an opponents ad asked what experience do I have that would aid the Justice of Peace office. Here is my Answers:1. Leadership- I have served two terms on the Rockwall City Council. This past year my council peers unanimously made me Mayor Pro-Tem. In that position, many will tell you that on council I am very prepared and fair in our decision making. I look for the facts not base my decision on emotion. My leadership has gotten noticed by the Republican Party of Texas naming me Senate District 2 Volunteer of the Year.2. Technology- Technology is imperative to this office. Until two years ago the offices did not accept credit cards. Today, we need an office that provides pertinent information to ensure the ability to be prepared in any interaction with the office. The ability to pay online is crucial for the future. I am currently a two-term Rockwall City Councilman seeking the position of Rockwall County Justice of Peace Precinct 3. Currently I am serving as the Mayor Pro-Tem. The role of JP handles Class C misdemeanor, serve as a small claims court. The position also handles marriages, death inquests, and truancies. It is a job that can be 24/7 and requires a person who is able and willing to work in any situation. Basically, it requires you to wear many different hats. It is a new office so, it is imperative to have a person who has experience setting up protocols and building teams.
If elected, I will work to be a firm and fair judge. The office will be Customer-Centered and efficient. I will work hard for Rockwall County as I have for the City of Rockwall. Death inquests will receive timely service.
